Specifically, we’re looking for teachers who are:

Our teachers have successfully led classrooms and produced substantial results for students in high-poverty schools. Our teachers are open to feedback, continuously reflect on their practice and are committed to continual improvement. 


Our teachers expertly navigate complex situations, persevere through challenges, and consistently embrace possibility—for themselves and their students.

All High Impact teaching candidates must:

  • Hold a teaching license recognized by the state of North Carolina or meet eligibility requirements for lateral entry. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Meet all legal requirements to work in the United States.
  • Pass a criminal background check, drug test, and TB test before the start of school.
